Background
In terms of grape-based wine consumption, Asia as a whole is still in its infancy. There is a general lack of confidence in buying wines especially when Asian consumers are presented with a huge number of selections from major wine-producing countries as they are overwhelmed and at times confused.
Into its 6th edition, Wine Style Asia Award 2009 is designed to give Asian wine consumers the added confidence in purchasing quality wines. The Award celebrates top quality wines for the Asian market, making it different from other wine awards, and has given our previous winners a distinctive edge over many other wines in Asia.
Award Categories:
a. Trophy (Top of the category)
b. Gold

- US$10 and above category (based on FOB prices)

Benefits
Wine Style Asia Award 2009 serves as a good reference for Asian consumers in the following key areas:
- Quality wines that have passed through grueling tests of Asian and International judges
- Recognition of diversity and uniqueness of the different wine regions;
- Though the tastings are blind, wines of the same price ranges, same varietals and same regions will be judged together, thus giving all wines an equal chance of winning a medal.
